Dropped my 5k time by 9 min! With a long history of ankle injuries and other injuries impacting my running, Ironhorse Physical Therapy has been instrumental in getting me back to running again. My therapist Victoria is truly a professional that listened and observed, and then developed a program that was tailored to my needs. The PT program developed by Victoria was comprehensive and rigorous (but not overwhelming) and over a course of several months my running improved substantially with a 9 minute drop in my 5k time. I would definitely recommend Ironhorse PT and Pilates.

Post knee surgery recovery Whooohoooo, Yes this is as good as it gets, and gets even better after visiting Victoria at Ironhorse PT. I could not walk without pain when I arrived at Ironhorse, my life was small and confined and was was feeling miserable and hopeless. Victoria's hands on and her knowledge of how the body works is amazing.  5 short sessions later, I can walk, I am back on my bike and have  hope again to do another TRIalthlon! Magic, Victoria, simply magic!
Thank-you, Nons
Karen
Leg has made an amazing recovery I’m 76 years old and have had a really bad left leg since my 20’s. I’ve had multiple surgeries for skin cancer that resulted in extensive skin grafts, muscle and lymph node excision. Ultimately this lead to scarring, loss of flexibility, weakness, a limp, drop foot and loss of sensation. I started to fall and could not lift my left leg into the car without using my hands to help me. I had about given up on getting better. A friend recommended Pilates and I’d barely heard of it and didn’t know anything about it. I contacted a local Pilates studio and was recommended to Victoria who was both a Physical Therapist and certified Pilates Instructor. A regular Pilates instructor wouldn’t be the best choice given my problems and special circumstances. When I started, Victoria worked with me too regain flexibility, then strength and finally endurance. What an AMAZING DIFFERENCE! With regular Pilates exercise through the lens of a licensed Physical Therapist, I’ve regained muscle, my flexibility and lots of strength. I walk without a limp, bicycle, hike, kayak, and travel all over the world without limitations. I can lead an active lifestyle despite my age of nearly 77 years. I want to continue as long as I live. Pilates has not only helped my leg, it has also improved my posture, balance and core strength. I am delighted!! “Danville Old Chick”

Avoided Back Surgery I was a 55  year old women who one day woke up not being able to straighten myself to a standing position or sit upright. I had a herniated disc. I was told by my neurosurgeon to try Pilates Therapy to strengthen my core if I didn't want to undergo back surgery. That is how I came to know and train with Victoria. She helped me to overcome the extreme pain and mobility issues I was having and to eliminate my need for prescription pain pills. On my first visit with Victoria she did a complete physical assessment and came up with a program tailored to meet my issues. We started with Pilates exercises on a reformer along with some manual muscle manipulation. I was truly amazed at how quickly my body started to respond. I think it had a lot to do with how Victoria truly cares about helping you heal and repair your body. She is patient and understanding of your limitations when it comes to your mental and physical abilities. She answers your questions and educates you about your body. She encourages and motivates you to push through the pain. When you leave your session you feel inspired, a sense of accomplishment, and rejuvenated (maybe even a little sore). You look forward to your next session because you see improvement.  It has been 7 years and I have never needed back surgery. I continue to see Victoria to maintain my core strength, flexibility, and do other strength training. Her favorite saying to me is  " exercise strengthens your muscles around your bones and by improving your balance and coordination as you age you will be less lightly to experience a bone fracture due to a fall".  For the same price as a Personal Trainer at a large Gym, I get an intimate environment to work out in be it Pilates, TRX, or physical rehabilitation. I do not feel intimidated or judged by others. Victoria is continuously on top of the newest methods for both strength training and muscle manipulation techniques. She herself is a high level athlete and she practices what she preaches on a daily basis. I would highly recommend Victoria to anyone that is looking for a great Physical Therapist or a Great Physical Trainer - she is both!
Old Hamstring Pain resolved! In January of 2015, Victoria Liu had an 8 week class for triathletes. At the time I was having issues with my right hamstring. it was an off and on pain for years after competing in a marathon. During the class we were given a lot of stretching and strengthening exercises.  The class really focused on proper body movements and isolated specific muscle groups. Victoria also gave me exercises for the hamstring. Since the class, I've incorporated the new strengthening and stretching into my daily workout routine.  I'm very happy to say that I have not had an issue with the hamstring since. To put it simply - she is an expert in the industry. Victoria is also a great athlete which helps her to relate to issues that athletes have from time to time.  I would not hesitate to recommend Ironhorse PT to anyone,
Sincerely, Al M

Diastasis Recti much Improved During my second pregnancy, I was diagnosed with Diastasis Recti (DR), abdominal muscle separation.  I had a big "mummy tummy" which made it look like I was 5 months pregnant even after giving birth.  This was a big deal for me since I have a petite frame.  My doctor said that I can get a "tummy tuck" surgery and I was so upset to hear that.  I wanted to see if I could rehabilitate myself through exercise instead of surgery.  I contacted Victoria Liu and she said that she had worked with DR clients before and she also had it herself when she was pregnant.  This was very reassuring to hear.  I began going to her about 2 months ago and I see her every 2 weeks.  I have seen great progress.  I am very diligent about doing my exercises every day.  My tummy has reduced by about 5 inches.  With each visit, Victoria would provide me with new exercises which would build upon each other.  The exercises are kegel intensive which are key to strengthening my core.  I absolutely love working with Victoria! she has a wonderful personality and is very knowledgeable about physical therapy/pilates.  Most importantly she has given me hope that I can improve my body/strength.  Her office is very clean and has all of the equipment needed to help one on their journey to becoming physically fit.  I also admire that she participates in triathlons !!!  I highly recommend Victoria !!!

Great 1 to 1 PT Victoria Liu is a fantastic physical therapist. She is very experienced in the field with tons of continued education and is also very knowledgeable in pilates which she integrates well into her therapy.  She has a wide variety of tools she has mastered to use at her disposal depending on your conditions and goals.  Beyond her effective treatment, she is an upbeat, caring person that truly loves helping people.

Many other clinics in my experience take too many patients per hour to make money and end up passing on the work to aides that don't know what they are doing.  At Ironhorse PT, Victoria has no PT Aides and the entire session is spent with 100% attention on you.  The value that you get out of one session from her is at least double the amount you would get at a session at an average clinic.

Bulletproof Runner I have been a patient of Victoria on/off for over one year, as I had some reoccurring running related issues, mostly foot, knee and lower back pain. Victoria quickly identified some related deficiencies related to flexibility and strength. She outlined a program which targeted those deficiencies, which has helped greatly and I am now running pain free. I have taken her Bulletproof Runner series which not only highlighted flexibility and strength but the importance of proper running form to avoid injury.  Highly recommended!

Triathlete Rehab After having some very negative experiences with other PT's & "sports medicine" facilities, I came in to see Victoria with reoccurring injuries/issues keeping me from running the marathon portion of an Ironman triathlon.  Not only has she been able to help with the existing knee/hip issue, she also explained why & how my knee pain is connected to to the other muscular imbalances. Victoria is knowledgeable, professional & understands the demands of my triathlon training.  She explains in terms I can understand & has helped to develop a plan of strength, yoga, stretching & pilates that works with my existing training & time constraints.  Since I started working with her, I have been able to run the full marathon pain free.

I cannot recommend Victoria more. She truly is amazing with her knowledge & expertise.

Pains from working out gone now

For my first visit, I went in thinking I’d have a quick consultation and maybe learn some basic exercises that would help me manage my muscle aches and pains, having decided that I’d just have to deal with more pains from being older. However, not only did I learn some useful information that has lead to a greater understanding of flexibility and how it relates to athletic ability and performance, but Victoria did some very effective soft tissue and muscle manipulation where I immediately noticed increased flexibility and reduced discomfort where just moments ago I thought was going to be a chronic issue. There were a couple of epiphany moments where I simply went, “Aha, that totally makes sense where and why I’m having that pain.” Seriously, knowledge is power, and I came away from that first session eye opened. From the stretches, foam rolling, and other exercises I was told, those have helped a lot with new issues and have taught me to look for the cause of the pains rather than just dealing with the symptoms, and then also have given me ideas on upping my athletic ability.

If you are dealing with muscle discomfort or stiffness that doesn’t seem to want to go away, go in for an initial consult and see what can be discovered.  More than likely, you’ll come away knowing something you didn’t know before, probably some relieved pain, and learn some exercises that, if you’re diligent, will help with your current pain and which you can use for any future pains. As we get older we’ll need to work on maintaining or increasing flexibility, not just strength, and the more knowledge, both head and practical, we have, the better. The treatments weren’t simply general feel good exercises that only brought short-term relief, instead they were specific to the pains I was feeling and have lasted long-term from what I know how to do now. So, during the sessions, I received immediate relief, and after the sessions, at home, I was able to continue the rehab on my own with my new knowledge. I would go back home and tell my wife how useful the most recent session was. There were definitely a number of light bulb moments where I was glad to learn there was rahab available so I wouldn’t have to just live with a pain or issue. I definitely recommend Ironhorse PT and Pilates for resolving any pain issues but also for overall body maintenance and sports performance enhancement.

I started going to Victoria to improve my flexibility and reduce my back and neck pain.  She custom developed a program that combined manual therapy, stretching, pilates and strength training and constantly updated and adjusted it as my conditions have improved. I now am stronger and more flexible than I have been since high school (I am about 30 years older now!)....
Her level of expertise, her approach to her craft and her commitment to her clients health and well-being is exceptional.  I highly recommend her vs. going to a big place with a rotating staff of PT's...there is no comparison.

Sciatic Nerve problem gone! I have been taking pilates reformer classes from Victoria and recently started to see her for PT sessions for my sciatic nerve injury. She is amazing at translating  a specific muscle area from technical to functional movement. She spends an appropriate time analyzing the injured area, using as a baseline and go from there. I love the personal attention she gives one in one. She also educates me as her client on reading my body and adjust as needed with recommended exercises. Highly recommend Victoria especially when I have had bad experiences with other PT professionals :)

Great PT Victoria is amazing.  I'm so glad to have discovered her services which have truly saved me.  Victoria is very knowledgeable, personable, professional..I can't say enough wonderful things about her.  Each time I've seen her for an injury (and I'm fairly injury prone) she has managed to get me back up and going in just a few visits. If I could give her more stars in this review I would, she deserves it.
I have been seeing Victoria for several years (having seen several other physical therapists) and she is better than any other PT I have ever worked with. She is constantly updating her skillset with additional courses and training and she can deploy different techniques including manual therapy, pilates, ART, cupping etc. She will never just stick you on some machine and disappear for half an hour as many PTs do. She's also a pleasure to be with, 100% dedicated and she practices what she preaches.

Pilates for Back Pain I would recommend Iron Horse PT to anyone experiencing pain and wanting to rehab from an injury. I saw Stephanie for my back pain from herniated discs. A spasm left me with very little mobility. In just four sessions I was able to function and go back to Pilates. I love the way she incorporated Pilates exercises with massage and specific deep tissue work.

Muscle Imbalances I am a beginner triathlete.
I have been very impressed with Victoria's knowledge of keen observation skills.  She was immediately able to identify weaknesses in my body structure and gave me specific exercises that targeted those weaknesses.  I have been able to keep the injury bug a bay and feel stronger than ever thanks to Victoria.

Post pregnancy rehab I saw Victoria after I had my 2nd child and was trying to get my body back to pre-pregnancy shape.   She did a great overall assessment and was very helpful in giving me tips to strengthen my core as well as what NOT to do.   I started seeing Stephanie in a semi-private Pilates class and that was fantastic.  Her classes were always tailored to strengthening the whole body, and we never had the same exercises back to back.  Stephanie put a lot of thought into the workout each week in terms of what we were going to do.  Overall I feel my body is stronger,  more flexible, and I don't have any aches or pains that i had during pregnancy.  I recommend either Victoria and Stephanie, as their level of professionalism,  positive attitude, detailed planning of class, is superb!
Victoria Liu is a well educated and highly trained physical therapist.  She cares for her clients and makes an extra effort to come up with solutions to their problems that will work for them.

I have known her for over five years, and frankly I don't know of any physical therapist who is more knowledgeable. She is sincere and available to her clients.  She has the ability to encourage people and support them in the process of returning to the best physical health they can achieve. She also helps them understand and learn how to improve and maintain their health. As she is a Pilates Instructor as well, she can review some of the Pilates exercises that can assist her clients maintaining good physical health.

I would unconditionally recommend her to anyone who needs physical therapy.
